Ordering Hard Copies and CDs
The Medicare B Hotline Bulletin is available in electronic format via our Web site, where copies can be printed free of charge. You can be notified via email when bulletins are posted on our Web site, as well as the latest Medicare updates, by subscribing to the UMD General ListServe, one of our electronic mailing lists. To subscribe to the ListServe, visit the ListServes page.
If you wish to receive the bulletin via hard copy or CD-ROM, you may subscribe to it for a fee.
The FY 2008 annual subscription cost is $50.00 for hard copies, and $25.00 for CDs. The subscription includes four quarterly bulletins published during the fiscal year - December 2007, March 2008, June 2008, and September 2008.
This program/publication/subscription/etc. has prior approval of the American Academy of Professional Coders for 1.0 Continuing Education Units [for each issue in FY 2008, which includes the December 2007, March 2008, June 2008, and September 2008 bulletins]. Granting of this approval in no way constitutes endorsement by the Academy of the program, content or the program sponsor.

Back Issues
You may request hard copies of back issues of the Medicare B Hotline Bulletin by writing to our office. Please be advised that the Medicare B Hotline Bulletin is subject to the regulations contained in the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). There is a fee associated with every FOIA request. Many of these fees are charged to the requester. Search and review fees are calculated at $20.00 per hour. Charges may be made for time increments down to one quarter of an hour. Copying charges are set at 10 cents per page. The cost of postage is determined by the number of pages being sent. Depending on the amount of time it takes to search for the information, and the number of pages of the document, there may not be a fee, as we do not bill for charges under $25.00. Requests for bulletin copies must be signed and must be submitted in writing to:

Printing the Medicare Part B Bulletin CEU Certificate
Beginning with the December 2007 bulletin, the Upstate Medicare Division's (UMD's) Medicare B Hotline Bulletin has been approved for American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) Continuing Education Units (CEUs). Each quarterly bulletin issued in fiscal year 2008 (i.e., December 2007, March 2008, June 2008, and September 2008) has been approved for 1.0 CEUs. A note about CEUs will appear on the front cover of each bulletin, and a CEU certificate will appear at the end of each bulletin.
To print the CEU certificate from our online bulletins for submission to your accrediting entity:

- Click on the "List the collection" link.
- Choose the bulletin for which you would like to print the CEU certificate (i.e., December 2007, March 2008, June 2008, and September 2008).
- Click on the "Front" link.
- Click on the "2008 Bulletin CEU Certificate" link.
- Choose "Print" from the "File" menu.
- Click "OK" to print the CEU certificate.

- Click on the "Download a bulletin" link.
- Choose the bulletin for which you would like to print the CEU certificate (i.e., December 2007, March 2008, June 2008, and September 2008).
- Go to the page where the CEU certificate appears - on the last page before the back cover.
- Choose "Print" from the "File" menu.
- Choose "Current Page" in the "Page Range" portion of the print window. The print window will show you a preview of the page that will be printed. Verify that the preview shows the CEU certificate.
- Click "OK" to print the CEU certificate.
