Important Notice Regarding Clinical Social Workers Enrolled in Medicare Prior to September 1, 2004 - Revised 5-23-06

Effective September 1, 2004, the profession of Certified Social Worker (CSW) in New York State was replaced with the professions of Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) and Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). In order to be enrolled in the Medicare program as a Clinical Social Worker, the applicant must have a NYS LCSW license.
