This information is a companion to the Pre-Pass Edits for Submitters  document, located in the HIPAA Claims Processing Package - 4010/4010A1 Information section of the EDI Services Web site. The Pre-Pass Edits for Submitters document is a listing of the HIPAA Implementation Guide Edits that an inbound HIPAA claims file is subjected to. In general, this listing is updated on a quarterly basis, when Medicare system changes are made. However, some Medicare system changes are "fast-tracked" due to compliance reasons, and updates to the Pre-Pass Edits for Submitters document may not be received at that time. Therefore, new edits or future edit information will be posted to this section of the EDI Services Web site, in lieu of being updated on the pre-pass edit listing.
