Yes, physician services for codes 93731-93736 are payable as an exclusion under SNF consolidated billing and should be reported with modifier 26 appended. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) provides a list of SNF consolidated billing exclusions for diagnostic tests. The list may be accessed on the CMS Web site at www.cms.hhs.gov/SNFPPS/05_ConsolidatedBilling.asp. Once there, scroll down and click on "Annual Updates." Next, click on the year in the left-hand navigation menu, then scroll down and click on "File 2 - Part A stay - Professional Components of Services to be Submitted with a 26 Modifier."
